Free tickets can be obtained directly at the box offices on site, also from the cash desks inside the Colosseum (see map).

Disabled people and a companion can access to the Colosseum for free and tickets (free) can be obtained at the box offices on site (see map).


Can tickets be bought at the ticket offices on site ?

Yes, every day, at the main ticket office (in front of the Colosseum), tickets can be bought (not for groups) until the end of availability (for this we suggest to go there on the early morning).
The ticket office is open every day from 9.00 to 18.15.



Is it possible to enter the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill before entering the Colosseum?

Yes, the Roman Forum / Palatine Hill can be entered at any time during the day of the reservation or in the 24 hours following entry to the Colosseum. However, we advise you to adjust with the times because the visit to the Roman Forum / Palatine Hill takes at least 2.5 hours and entry to the Colosseum is only possible at the time chosen when booking.


Is it true that admission to the Colosseum is free on the first Sunday of the month?

How can I book access to the Colosseum for the first Sunday of the month?

For the first Sunday of the month (and on other days with free admission) it is not possible to book admission but you must collect the (free) ticket at the main ticket office , on the day of the visit (we recommend going early because the queue is usually very long)


Is it possible to visit the arena and the underground of the Colosseum on the first Sunday of the month?

No, on the first Sunday of the month and on other days with free admission the arena and the underground of the Colosseum are closed to the public for safety reasons.


Can small dogs enter the Colosseum?

No, dogs cannot be brought into the Colosseum.
