Villa d'Este and Villa AdrianaIncluded by UNESCO in the list as a world heritage of humanity, Villa d'Este is an impressive concentration of fountains, nymphaeums, caves and water games.
It is located in Tivoli in the province of Rome and can be reached :
  • by car on the A24 motorway, Tivoli
  • by train Rome-Pescara line, Tivoli
  • or by bus, Cotral Rome-Tivoli line (Rome terminus: Ponte Mammolo metro stop; Tivoli stop: Largo Nazioni Unite).

    Villa d'Este is open every day from 8.30am to 7.45pm (with last admission at 6.45pm)
    Closed on Monday morning until 2.00 pm (in the case of public holidays the opening is from 8:45 am to 7:45 pm and the following Tuesday from 2:00 pm to 7:45 pm), on December 25th and January 1st

    Villa Adriana is also located in Tivoli, in Largo Marguerite Yourcenar, 1 and is; reachable:
  • from Rome with Metro B Ponte Mammolo stop and Co.Tral bus towards Via Prenestina and stop about 300 m. from the site, or Co.Tral bus towards Via Tiburtina and stop about 1 km from the site, or Co.Tral bus towards Tivoli / A24 motorway and stop about 1 km from the site;
  • or, again from Rome, by train FS and stop Tivoli station and bus CAT line number 4 and stop about 300 m from the site

    The archaeological area of ??Villa Adriana is open every day from 8.15am to 7.30pm (the ticket office closes one hour earlier)
    It is closed on December 25th and January 1st, except for extraordinary openings
