"As long as the Colosseum, there will Rome when the Colosseum falls, Rome will also fall, but when Rome falls, the world will fall"

Reopenings and events of spring time in Rome
The Colosseum by night
At night, when it is illuminated and there are few people, the Colosseum is surrounded by a magical atmosphere and is a marvel, and every year, throughout the summer, it is possible to visit the Colosseum"s basement and the arena floor. even during the night, after closing time, when there is no longer the big crowd of the day.
Visitors will cross the maze of tunnels and passages in the Colosseum"s basement, where the preparations for the shows took place and where the beasts, locked up in cages, were then loaded onto the elevators to get to the arena floor, for the bloody hunting scenes.
On the arena floor, then, crossing a walkway of more than 170 meters, they will be able to admire the bowels of the monument and, with the favor of the night, they will be able to fully relive the atmosphere that enveloped those spaces.
In the summer of 2022, the multimedia reading of the seventeenth-century wall painting, depicting an ideal view of the city of Jerusalem, placed on the arch at the bottom of the Triumphal Gate, from where gladiators and beasts entered faced off on the arena.
